Works publishing informative articles with a personal slant have a better chance of being read by the mainstream public than those that merely present facts. This doesn't suggest that facts are non-essential or are second to personal experience however. It rather suggests that material presented from actual experience are more appreciative due to their inclination to resonate within the minds, hearts, and lives of the people who read it.

So when you're writing informative articles, try to first establish a relationship with the reader by being yourself and bringing a bit of your personality into your writing. You can do this by sharing some of your personal experiences about the topic or sharing a story of someone you know written in a "first person" journalistic style. You can even present some of your own ideas about the topic and spell out your own preferences about certain issues of your topic.

Although you want your works publishing informative articles to impact the reader with a personal touch, you're still required to be mindful of facts. In fact, because you're incorporating your personality into your writing, the call for factual data is even more critical to establish credibility. Your experience with a subject may make you an expert, but readers will be inclined to accept your experiences with less resistance if you accompany them with statistics, quotes, and other types of facts and figures.

If you find it difficult to share your experiences about the topic (or you don't have any to share at all), you can always interview others and incorporate their experiences into the topic that you're developing. You can find people to interview from all walks of life - from children to senior citizens; from students to CEO's. When including the experiences of others, try to present them in a way that the mainstream public can relate to.
