Articles on art are a venue for bringing the world of art to those who might not find an interest in it otherwise. Through your writing, you can generate a new curiosity about the way that today's generation expresses itself through paint, clay, marble, or wood for example.

Contrary to what some people may say, art is not dead! And your articles on art should reflect that. Do you remember your first trip to an art museum or art gallery - and how interesting it was to see hundreds of people enjoying and chatting about the works on display? Perhaps you can remember how exciting it was to meet the artist of those works and being surrounded by the media asking the artists questions about his or her presentation? If you can project this excitement into your articles on art, your writing will be successful. Remember some of the things that you particularly enjoy about art and describe them in a way that will make your readers enjoy themselves too.

If you don't know that much about art to begin with, or if you would simply like to fill your articles on art with interesting facts or personal experiences, take some art classes at a local community college. You don't need to work towards getting a Fine Arts degree (unless you want to), but you should at least take an art appreciation class. Art appreciation will give you the necessary skills to determine exactly what it is that makes art worth writing about in the first place. Through this class, you'll learn art theory, design, and of course, art history. When you feel confident to venture out further into the art world, you can take a few drawing and painting classes so that you can offer a little personal experience in your articles on art.
